Australian Idol alumni, and world beat-box champion Joel Turner is back. – well he never left, but he’s been busy since the 2004 release of ‘These Kids.’
From beatboxing onstage with Public Enemy, to working with youth in detention centres, he hasn’t stopped.
“Been doing music, live shows, giving back to the community, going up north into remote communities.” said Joel.
Twenty years on, Joel has re-released a reworked version of the song, which he says lyrics were written by his older brother Tim aka DubLT.
Quix officially lead the charge on the rework giving the anniversary edition a ‘UK Garage,’ feel according to Joel.
A song which focused on youth struggles has been updated to take on the problems of today’s youth, two decades on.
