Tarago, New South Wales

The town has an estimated population of 500 people. It’s located 39 km south of Goulburn and 69 KMs north of Canberra, the state’s capital city. 

Tarago has a railway station which is serviced by explorer train services. (booked seats.) – the station itself is heritage listed. 

The mainstreet features a service station, multipurpose sports area, preschool and cafes and shops. 

The town also has a fire-station and police station located on Goulburn Street by the level crossing.

Payment options were both cash and EFTPOS. – according to the Tarago Shop facebook page, the station trades between the hours of weekdays, 6AM-6PM & Weekends from 8AM-6PM.

The service station is located at 2 Briadwood Road, Tarago.

The station is service by six booked services each day. Destinations include Canberra, and Central Station Sydney.

Loaded Dog Hotel

Food, beer, and a place to lay your head. – The pub is located on the corner of Wallace Street & Braidwood road. – the pub opened it’s doors in 1848.

Telecommunications

Optus, Telstra networks avaliable and so was Vodafone. – a payphone (now free to use) was located across the road from the Loaded Dog (pub) on Wallace Street.
