Tonight I was out on location with Hunter TV and we b-roll and vox pops for the reopening of the Station Newcastle.

About ‘The Station,’
The Station was formally part of the heavy rail network, and the final stop on the Hunter Line in Newcastle.
Trains stopped at this station and it’s tracks were covered over.
The Station is now a multi purpose space that can be used by the community for event’s and markets.
Save Our Rail
The removal of the heavy rail infrastructure was a controversial topic in Newcastle, with action groups forming to oppose the removal of track and retain the existing services.
Crowds gathered in the streets to protest the removal of the line.
The last train departed from the train station on Christmas night, 25th December 2014.
