I’ve Listened through these headphones for two weeks, here are my findings, these are my first pair of Sony headphones.
to date, I’ve clocked up just under 50 hours of listening time.
Noise Cancelling
The noise cancelling in these headphones, is unlike anything I’ve ever heard before. I can barely hear a Portable Air Conditioner that is sitting behind me.
Auto-Off
A issue I had with a competitors headphone was that I would charge them, turn them on, use them for a short period of time, then take them off. I’d come back the next day to find them dead flat. This doesn’t happen with the Sony headphones, they are smart enough to recognise you have removed them from your head and automatically turn off.
Dual Bluetooth Connection
You can have them connected to two different sources at once over Bluetooth, so in my case they are linked and connected to both my PC and Phone.
Speak Feature
You can configure the Sony headphones to open the microphones when you speak, this way you can hear other people and have a conversation without removing the headphones, this feature temporarily disables noise cancelling and brings outside noise into your cans via the built in microphones. You can choose in the settings for how long after being activated they stay open for in seconds, or you can place your hand over the right cup at anytime to activate it manually.
Ambience Feature
You can either manually turn on abient sound via the button on the left headphone cup, or choose the amount of sound you wish to let in from outside using the Sony headphone app, on your phone.
Battery Life
These headphones charge via a USB-C port and last a reported 30 hours, I found these headphones to last a longtime, especially considering the auto power off, if you take them off your head for a period of time.
What I Didn’t Love
- the length of the charging cable was far to short to be practical in my opinion.
Weight
Weighing the headphones on a food -grade scales accurate to 1gram, I observed the weight of my pair at 250 grams.
