What is Homegrown?
Homegrown is NEWFM’s weekend feature show which invites musicians from Newcastle to perform on the station live.
The show keeps it simple with the ‘unplugged,’ theme, guest are required to play an acoustic set, digital masters, pedals, loops and mixer are not allowed into the performance.
The show in 2025;
Welcoming new, and welcoming back returning guests we saw covers, and stories from across the Hunter. We got a glimpse behind the scenes of huge TV shows like The Voice and Australian Idol, we got the Goss from Tamworth Country Music Festival, and we went behind the scenes with artists, did two-time Luke Combs supporter Lane Pitman, did Lane & Graisea end up buying that couch?
The show takes us inside the decision making process of local artists, helps us discover the messages behind the music, and inspires a new generation of music writers.
How to take part?
The only way to take part, head to newfm.com.au and fill out the application form, successful applicants will be contacted by telephone and invited to NEWFM’s Sandgate Studios.
