So what brings us to the farm? – Well Sarah knows that my favourite animals are Llamas, Alpacas and Giraffe’s. – It was also valentines day, a weekend which also means we both aren’t at work.
With a focus on experiences this year, instead of physical gifts, Sarah by chance looking for wedding venues came across the experience in the Hunter Valley.
Welcome into our Butterwick farm date, seven minutes drive from Patterson, to the Gumnut Alpaca stud.
Where a picnic for two, was placed in our own paddack with a considerable herd of Alpacas.
Our picnic was situated on a rug, with oversized cushions, and guarded from the sun via a large marquee.
Our hosts provided a spread, which was filling for both of us. they also looked after us with Aeroguard and hand sanitizer. (nice touch)
A soft breeze floated through the paddock, the alpacas roamed freely, a notable calmness was present, with no road noise, and a soft breeze floating through our session.
A bale of hay was placed by our table, and a bowl of feed provided for us to feed them alpacas, we were also free to roam the paddock and interact with the herd.
Our session lasted an hour and half.
