Today I joined Hunter TV in Newcastle to cover the opening of the Newcastle Light Rail opening.
Extensive crowds gathered along Stewart Avenue, outside Newcastle Interchange to get their first ride on new fleet which runs from Wickham to outside Pacific Park on Scott Street.
The tram uses the old rail corridor up until just past Hunter Street TAFE before moving onto Hunter Street.
The Honeysuckle stop is located in close proximity to Hunter TAFE, NSW Department of health building, and makes for quick access to Marketown or the Cambridge Hotel.
Civic stop, provides easy access to the University Of Newcastle campus, and Civic Theatre.
